From Kashmir comes this red oval Yaqoot of 8.65 ct, a little over nine and a half ratti (9.51). The price is Rs. 19,500, or about Rs. 2,254 per carat.
A stone of this weight makes a statement ring, so a sturdy bezel or a thick six-prong mount is a sensible choice. Since the price is over Rs. 15,000, delivery is free, and you pay the rider in cash when it arrives. The ruby has not been lab-tested for treatment; you are welcome to have that done yourself.
