Why we started
Buying a gemstone in Pakistan often starts with a recommendation. An elder in the family suggests Neelam, an astrologer names Pukhraj, or a friend swears by his Aqeeq. Then comes the hard part: finding a stone you can trust, at a price that makes sense, without a long afternoon of guesswork.
Online, the problem gets worse. Many listings show a glossy stock photo, no weight and no price, only "message for rate". We wanted a shop that works the other way round. Every loose stone on Real Gems has its own page with its weight in carat and ratti, its price in rupees and a clear photo of that stone. You order, the courier brings it, and you pay the rider when the parcel is in your hands.
That is the whole idea. No advance payment, no bank transfer before you have seen anything, no haggling in the inbox.
How we choose stones
We buy loose, natural stones and look at each one ourselves before it goes on the site. We care about three things: colour that is pleasing in daylight, a cut that lets the stone show itself, and a price that is fair for its size and quality.
We pass on stones we cannot describe with confidence. If something looks like glass, a doublet or a dyed piece, it does not get listed. If we are unsure about a stone, we leave it out rather than guess.
Our range covers the stones people here ask for most: Neelam, Pukhraj, Yaqoot, Zamurd, Feroza, many kinds of Aqeeq, Dur-e-Najaf, Marjan and more. You can browse them by type, from blue sapphire to Yemeni Aqeeq.
How we describe them
Each listing sticks to what we actually know: gem type, weight in carats and ratti, price, shape, colour, origin where we have it, and treatment status. We convert weight using the standard gem ratti, where 1 ratti equals 0.91 carat, and you can check any figure on our ratti converter.
Every stone is one of a kind, and the photo shows the stone you will receive. Screens differ, so colour may look a little brighter or deeper on your phone than in your hand. Where a stone has not been lab-tested for treatment, we say so plainly. You can read more about how we check stones before listing them.
What we will not do
- No invented papers. We do not make up certificates, lab reports or grades. If a stone has no report, its page will not pretend otherwise.
- No luck promises. Many people wear stones for traditional or astrological reasons, and we respect that. We will tell you what tradition holds, but we will never claim a stone will cure, protect or change your fortune.
- No pressure. No countdown timers, no fake sales, no messages designed to rush you.
- No guessing games on price. The price on the page is the price you pay, plus Rs. 400 delivery if your order is under Rs. 15,000.
If something is not right
You have 7 days from delivery to return a stone, unset and as we sent it. If any gem lab finds that a stone is not the natural gem we described, we refund everything, delivery included. The details are on our returns page.
