Kashmir is the name that sapphire buyers lower their voices for, and this oval carries it. At 4.50 ct (4.95 ratti), the deep blue sits well on a man's ring finger without looking oversized. The price is Rs. 67,500, which works out to Rs. 15,000 per carat.
We have not had it lab-tested for treatment, so we describe it only as a natural Neelam of Kashmir origin. If you want a lab's view before setting it, you are welcome to take it to one. A four-prong or bezel setting in silver or white gold will keep the oval secure for daily wear.
