From Madagascar, this bloodstone is cut as a drop and weighs 25.80 ct, or 28.35 ratti. It costs Rs. 5,780, about Rs. 224 per carat. The pear shape makes it a natural pendant stone.
Known locally as Sang-e-Yashab Khooni, bloodstone is a variety of chalcedony, hardness 6.5 to 7, so it wears well. It has traditionally been an alternative March birthstone. The stone has not been lab-tested for treatment, and you are welcome to have it examined. Add Rs. 400 for delivery; the total of Rs. 6,180 is paid in cash when it reaches you.
