Deep violet and very large, this African purple sapphire weighs 20.45 ct, or 22.47 ratti. It costs Rs. 9,000, about Rs. 440 per carat.
A stone of twenty two ratti makes a powerful men's ring, and sapphire's hardness of 9 means it will not scratch easily. Some wear Jamunia Neelam because tradition links sapphire with Saturn; we describe the stone only, not any effect. It has not been tested for treatment, and you are welcome to test it.
