Round opals are less common than ovals, and this one from Australia weighs 2.50 ct (2.75 ratti). It is listed at Rs. 18,750, which works out to Rs. 7,500 per carat.
A round shape centres neatly in a solitaire ring and looks the same from every angle. It also suits a simple pendant. As with all opal, avoid sudden temperature changes and hard knocks.
