Just over one carat, this oval opal weighs 1.15 ct, which is 1.26 ratti. At Rs. 3,150 it suits a buyer who wants a modest stone for a first opal ring without a large outlay.
A stone this size looks right on a little finger or in a delicate pendant for a daughter or sister. Ask your jeweller for a low setting with metal around the rim, since opal does not like hard knocks. We have not had it lab-tested for treatment, and you are free to do so.
