Green malachite, known locally as Dahna-e-Farang, is a soft stone with a strong colour. This piece weighs 25.45 ct, or 27.97 ratti, and costs Rs. 4,050, about Rs. 159 per carat. It is a good size for a pendant or a bold men's ring worn on special days.
At 3.5 to 4 for hardness, malachite scratches more easily than most gems, so keep it away from keys and coins. It has not been lab-tested for treatment, and you are free to have it checked. Delivery is Rs. 400, paid in cash on arrival.
