Pakistan's northern mountains are known for garnet, and this 6.50 ct stone comes from here. It weighs 7.14 ratti and costs Rs. 7,730, around Rs. 1,189 per carat.
A home-grown Sang-e-Seemaq is a nice gift for someone proud of local stones. Set it in yellow gold for a warm, traditional look, or silver for something plainer. We have not had it lab-tested for treatment, so testing is open to you.
