A Kashmir stone with a bright, clean blue. This oval weighs 2.50 ct, or 2.75 ratti, and costs Rs. 37,500, at Rs. 15,000 per carat.
Lighter blues show sparkle more readily than inky ones, so this sapphire looks lively under ordinary room light. It would make a lovely engagement ring for someone who prefers colour to diamonds. We have not tested it for any treatment. Returns are accepted within seven days if the stone comes back unset.
