The capital and the mountain stones
Islamabad is a young, planned city, and it has fewer old gem bazaars than its neighbour Rawalpindi. Many Islamabad families still cross over to Rawalpindi's markets to buy stones. What the capital does have is easy access to the north. Gems from Gilgit-Baltistan and the Karakoram travel down towards the twin cities, and many Islamabad residents have seen aquamarine and tourmaline offered on trips up the Karakoram Highway.
We have no shop or office in Islamabad. We send stones to you by courier, and you pay when the parcel arrives.
What people in Islamabad look for
Pakistan's northern stones are a natural interest here. Aquamarine, with its pale, cool blue, and tourmaline are frequent requests, along with bright green peridot. For traditional rings, Neelam is the stone most often asked about, and topaz is a good choice for a clear, lively gem at a modest price.
Buyers here often want the details in writing before they decide. That suits us. Every listing gives the weight in carats and ratti, the price, and a note if the stone has not been tested for treatment.

Getting a stone tested
